CURTIS ROLF HUNT III is the go-to guy for the masonry restoration of historical buildings in San Antonio, South Central Texas, and beyond. Master masonry has been the family passion for generations. “Right now, my sons are in it; I’m in it; my father was in it; my grandfather and my great-grandfather were in it.” He and his wife Dorothy, who first met in the eighth grade, have been married over thirty-five years. Each of their three children is an important contributor to Curtis Hunt Restorations, established near Elmendorf in 1978. His sons, Michael and Curtis Hunt IV, are project managers, and daughter Brandy helps Dotty run the office. One of dozens of important projects is the restoration of the Pearl Brewery, dating from the late 1800s. For Hunt and his family, the future is clear. “There are so many old buildings that there’s always work to be done, especially in San Antonio, with its history and heritage.” As you read these pages, you’ll see that the Hunt family has done much to help preserve our history and heritage for generations to enjoy.
